Created for His Glory

Our hearts are made to worship.  We crave.  We crave something, anything to set our affections towards.  We seek it out.  Food, Love, Romance, Rest, Health, Wealth, Accolades.

Did you know scripture says that we were created for the sole purpose glorifying God?  God talks about it in the book of Isaiah when He is redeeming Israel:

“Everyone who is called by My name,
And whom I have created for My glory,
Whom I have formed, even whom I have made.” Isaiah 43:7, emphasis added

Is your life marked by living for the sole purpose of glorifying God?  I know mine doesn’t always reflect that.  Sunday morning is a great time to turn your heart back to Him, the One who formed my inward parts and wove me in my mother’s womb“. You could do this by going to a local church and worshiping alongside other people who believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ.   I highly recommend this.  It is my favorite form of worship.  I get to do it weekly at a church that my husband and I started 4 and a half years ago, North Village Church.  You could also do it right now by listening to a few songs that might draw your heart in to Him.  I’ll leave you with some….

All Sons and Daughters sings a song about how much we need Jesus.  I love All Sons And Daughters.  Their music is so personal, drawing in how we all feel about sin, God, our need for Him and it’s all written and intertwined with Truth.  I Love their music!!!:

Oh, How I Need You by All Sons and Daughters

Great Are You Lord by All Sons and Daughters

Brokenness Aside by All Sons and Daughters

Called Me Higher by All Sons and Daughters

Spirit Speaks by All Sons and Daughters

Oceans by Hillsong UNITED

Beautiful Things by Gungor

This song talks about how we love being in His presence: I Love Your Presence by Bethel Church in Redding

These are all songs I’m loving right now.  They help draw my heart into worship, which is so important.  Our heart can get so hard and tainted and full of sin and lies so easily, it’s good to surround ourselves with specific things that will remind us of truth and what we’re really made for.  Take some time today to praise Jesus.  Even if it feels weird or unnatural, give it just a minute or two and see what happens.  Do it right now on your couch or in your bed.  Do it at a church or in your car.  Listen to these songs or just pray and tell Him what you love about the earth He created or what you love about your life right now.  I’m doing it right now.  I’m listening to a playlist of the above songs as I type.  It will keep playing as I get ready and drive to church.  I pray your life is filled with love and joy as your worship God today.  Worship with me.
