Joy

IMG_4424 We went on a very impromptu trip to San Antonio the day after Christmas.  Our daughter, Holly, and her husband thought it would be fun to take their two kids and for us all to go spend the night and enjoy the River Walk, the Mexican Market, the Alamo and all that goes with a visit to one of Texas’ most interesting cities.  It was beautiful at Christmas and I must say the weather was a bit invigorating too!  The river was all lit up with magical dancing lights in the trees and on the boats. It was so fun to watch the kids find joy in nearly all they did, feeding the birds and ducks, exploring the hotel, riding the trolley and shopping in the market. I’m hoping that simple JOY will be a more deliberate thing for me this year.  I mean Joy that I focus on and thank God for bringing into my life on a daily basis-the kind of joy that exudes from a child’s face when you hand them a piece of gum, or the joy you feel when someone hugs you, or the simple joy of admiring the beautiful world God has created.  I encourage you to feel the small joy around you and to remember that
