31 days: Let’s Just Be Honest Day 2: Waiting Takes Courage

Let’s just be honest, waiting sucks.  It goes against every fleshly fiber of my being that makes me want everything now.  Food, now.  Comfort, now (and always, by the way).  Answers, now.

That’s where I am with God right now.  I want answers.  I’ve had a lot of questions that have been floating around in my mind for a while and I don’t have answers to them and that bugs.  So I’m just going to be honest with you and share some of my questions I’ve got going on.  Don’t feel propelled to answer them.  In all honesty {and with love, a smile and a hug} I’m not looking for answers from you.  I’m waiting on God.  He hasn’t answered me on these things, yet.  That’s okay.  Let’s just be honest,  I’d love to have all the answers now but, I’m okay with the waiting … for now. We’ll see how the rest of the day goes!!! HA!

Some of my burning questions:

Why is all this going on with my mother in law?

Why don’t I have the counseling job I thought I’d have 18 years later?

Why is it so hard with that one child right now? How is this going to get any easier or better?

Some truth that I came across today that is SOOOO good for me to remember:

“Wait for the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14

Y’all, waiting for answers from the Lord doesn’t just take time, but it takes courage.  It’s hard to sit in a place of wonder … a place of ‘what the heck is going on!?!??!’  It takes courage to continue on in faith that my God has not forgotten about me and all my questions.  To trust and remember that:

“For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus” Philippians 1:6.

It’s hard and takes courage to remember that He actually does know the plans He has for me and that those plans are for good, a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).  Yes, HE is on my side and that is encouraging!!!
