What I love about this Season {autumn}

Autumn is my favorite season.  I love so much about it.  I wanted to share with you some of the things I love about this season … in no particular order 🙂

1. Pumpkins & Gourds.  Of all shapes and sizes. I don’t have my big ones yet.  I’ve not even seen real ones out yet … but I have my little ones!!!  I put them in things, on things, around things.  They are super easy to pick up and it’s easy for the little ones to get involved in the decorating.  My 5 & 8 year olds did it this year.

2. Football.  I grew up in a football loving family.  I love that about my family.  I don’t know how much my mom actually liked football growing up, but she always watched it with us.  In high school I started learning about football more because I was on the drill team.  I’m talking basics here, folks … offense, defense, 4 downs to move 10 yards, 6 points for a touchdown and then there’s the extra point.  I enjoyed learning about it.  We always rooted for the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Longhorns.

3. Good Smelling Candles.  I love the scents of Autumn candles.  Do you want to know a little secret? My absolute favorite candles are these …

I get them at Wal-Mart for only 5.00 each.  I *love* that.  This one is the pumpkin scent.   They have a label on the front that easily peels off.  They are 20.0z. and they burn all the way around and down.  Tip: Did you know you are supposed to burn a candle 1 hour for every inch around it is?  You’ll know it’s a good burning candle if you do that and it burns all the way around and down.

4. Decorating my house.  I like decorating for Autumn for a few reasons … 1. The decor stays up for a few months.  2. As soon as I take down these decorations, I get to put up Christmas decorations!!! That makes me super happy.

General Decor     Oven     Dining Room Table

Here’s what I do with my pumpkin dish towels and Autumn table linens: I wash them often (they go in almost every load of laundry I do) and I don’t iron them.  This way I can just fold them and use them again very quickly.  I get a lot of use out of them!

Lastly, I start this Autumn season with a bit of a resolution.  I’m resolving to learn more about college football this Autumn.  As much as I love college game day … I know very little about it.  I’m resolving to learn about divisions and BCS standings and I don’t even know what else.  But I’m excited to learn!!!

What do you love about Autumn?  Feel free to let me know … I’d love to hear it.  Feel free to leave any college football knowledge below as well!
