Psalm 32:1-2

1 How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,

Whose sin is covered!

The Hebrew word for ‘blessed’ here is ‘happy’.  God forgiving us of our sin can actually allow us to feel happy.  It changes us from the inside … even on an emotional level.

Our sin is covered.  It’s not that God takes our sin away so that we are now perfect and without sin.  It’s that He covers our sin with His righteousness so that we are now clean and brought back into a right relationship with Him.

2 How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity,

And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

We can come to Jesus in confession of our sin with no deceit.  We don’t have to hide what’s going on inside us.  We can be honest and truthful and open with God, telling Him all about what’s going on in our hearts.  We don’t have to come to him in a spirit of deceit – hiding everything that is going on.

I pray you can be open with God today.  God tells us in Psalm 139 that He formed our inmost parts and that He knows us.  Go to Him today.  Without deceit.  Tell him all about your heart and what’s going on.  Might you be freed by the blessing that comes from your confession.
