P 31-part three

Here we go again…not sure whether to call this adding insult to injury or adding quality to the quantity we already have!  Seriously, these next five verses in Proverbs 31 just keep getting better.  I especially love verse 24-“she smiles at the future”.  That isn’t always the easiest of things for me to do, yet God calls us to do that and to trust Him with our future.  It is obvious she can sew…I can’t even thread a machine, buttons are my limit:)  Oh well, some things may never be accomplished…  so here goes P31:21-25:

” She is not afraid of the snow for her household, all her household are clothed with scarlet.  She makes coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.    Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.  She makes linen garments and sells them, and supplies belts to the tradesmen.  Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future.”

Qualities I see:

Asset (to her husband)-v.23

Strong (inner strength)v.25

I love that this woman does the best with what God gives her.  She is not a drawback to her her husband; he is obviously well-known in his city and she does not disgrace him.  She keeps her children prepared and helps them be the best they can be too.  That is so encouraging to me, to know that the small things I do, the diligence I take can make a world of difference to my husband and children.

I agree with you. I like in verse 25 when it says ‘she smiles at the future’. That’s easy for me to do when I know what it’s going to look like. Otherwise, it’s usually met with fear, insecurity and general avoidance!
