P 31-part two

Proverbs 31 presents a “type or model”, a composite, of an ideal wife and mother. It is impossible to be perfect, however, the woman represented in this chapter does give a wonderful list of attributes to work toward.  Today, let’s look atthe next five verses, Proverbs 31:16-20.

“She considers a field and buys it; from her earnings she plants a vineyard.  She girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong.  She senses that her gain is good; her lamp does not go out at night.  She stretches out her hands to the distaff, and her hands grasp the spindle.  She extends her hand to the poor; and she stretches out her hands to the needy.”    Proverbs 31:16-20
She is:

Independent (in a good way)-v.16

Hard working-v.17

Feeling a bit overwhelmed?  I hope not, these qualities are something to work on, not necessarily accomplish total achievement. Through God, all things are possible…be encouraged!

It’s funny, because when I read the list of adjectives, I don’t think ‘oh ya, that’s me’!!! But it does breed in me a confidence and hope that thru Christs’ righteousness, given to me because of what He did on the cross, I am those things in Him. That’s encouraging.
