Joy 2012

Do you read Ann Voskamp’s blog A Holy Experience?  Some of you have probably heard of or read her book( ).  Ann is starting a Joy 2012 dare for anyone interested in counting God’s blessings on a daily basis. The dare is to live full of JOY in 2012 by counting 3 blessings a day which would give us each 1,000 gifts to praise God for by 2013.  I am taking the dare and want you to join me if you wish.  She is making it easy by sending 3 questions/thoughts to answer for each day of the month.  Yesterday’s thoughts were to name,

One thing you’re reading: Humilty by CJ Mahaney

One thing your making: Fresh apple bread for a friend just out of the hospital

One thing you see: Fun, bright yellow “weed” flowers in my yard that remind me spring is on the way.

How easy is that?  It gives me focus to look at life with a positive view and I am reminded of all the small blessings God pours out on me each and every day-even when my soul is downcast.  I am assembling a small notebook with monthly tabs  and notebook paper where I can record my 3 joys everyday. Since you young moms are super busy-you might even want to just hang the monthly list on your fridge and then answer them in your thoughts as you say a quick thank-you to God.  Please consider joining me.  I will keep you posted on my progress.  Many blessings and much JOY in 2012.

That’s Great! I really love it. It is way easy for me to over look the joys and blessings and not praise God amidst the messes and busyness and all that comes in a day! FUN! I love it!
