For those who are weary

Ever get weary?

… chances are you do.  How do we not grow weary in this life?  The continual going and doing and taking care of and striving for change and difference.

At some point, I get weary.  Tired.

Is it worth it?  I’m trying, but I’m tired.  And continuing to grow tired with each day that passes.

Even with the wonderment of a new and beautiful morning…still tired.

So what do we do, beloved friends?

We turn to truth.

Always turn to truth.

It’s the only thing that can sustain.  It’s the only true thing.

Not what you hear from media; what you think or feel; not everyone else’s opinion.

Pray that truth. Filter it into your head to fight the non-truth thoughts, feelings, emotions.

17 may God give to you a spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened, so that you will know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the surpassing greatness of His power toward us who believe.” Ephesians 1:17-19

Pray those words for yourself.

Holy Spirit teach me … transform my heart …

9 For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously 12giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. 13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:9-14

Give your weariness to Him. Your weight … give it to Him.  Only He can transform your weight, your load, and restore you back to what you are longing for.  Jesus is beckoning …

28 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

Good Word!! So important to rest in the truth, and the Cross to overcome our weary lives.

Thank you for this truth today, Holly. I used these verses as my quiet time while sitting in the parking lot of Central Market checking email with my phone, waiting to meet a friend for lunch, while Marshall was sacked out in the backseat. It’s been a weary week, so those verses refreshed my soul!
