Black and White

I am more of a black and white person than not.  So when it comes to scripture and truth about God … I enjoy the same.  I read this scripture this morning and l.o.v.e. the black and white absolute truth about God in it.

7But the LORD abides forever;
He has established His throne for judgment,
8And He will judge the world in righteousness;
He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.
9The LORD also will be a stronghold for the oppressed,
A stronghold in times of trouble;
10And those who know Your name will put their trust in You,
For You, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek You.

There is a lot in there … I loved the parts in blue.  This morning I woke up with a grumpy heart.  😦 boooo on that!!!  It directly affected those around me, especially my oldest and we had a head-butting problem once again this morning.  We mended hearts before having to drop her at school, but what now?  What do I do about my heart now?

Truth.  It needs truth …. I need truth.  Black and white truth.

Psalm 103:8 “8The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness.”

He is gracious with me, He understands when I wake up grumpy and choose wrong behavior.  He loves me and just wants me to come confess that sin to Him and start fresh again.

Psalm 116 ” 1I love the LORD, because He hears My voice and my supplications.
2Because He has inclined His ear to me, Therefore I shall call upon Him as long as I live.
3The cords of death encompassed me And the terrors of Sheol came upon me; I found distress and sorrow.  4Then I called upon the name of the LORD: “O LORD, I beseech You, save my life!”
5Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate. “

When I come to Him and confess, He hears.  He listens.  Like the psalmist, I can call out to Him to save me from these moments of sin in my life and He will be gracious to forgive.

Romans 12:1-2 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.  2And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Just sit before Him, Holly.  Just sit.  Present yourself to Him.  Present yourself to Him as one if His.  Worship Him in this way and ask for the transformation of your heart and the renewing of your mind so you can walk away from the grumpiness and walk in Holiness.

Deuteronomy 7:9 “Know therefore that the LORD your God, He is God, the faithful God, “

He is faithful.  He will be faithful to preserve the relationship I have with my daughter and He will be faithful to His promises of transforming my heart.

What did you encounter this morning?  Did you encounter truth? Truth from the One and only True God who can bring about real heart change?  Real transformation.  Just sit.  Present yourself to Him this morning.

    Love it. Thanks for these truths, our foundation in all circumstances. I am currently memorizing that verse from psalm 103. Thankful for his lovingkindness.

    Lately I have been beating myself up about not being “who I think God wants me to be”. It dawned on me when I was praying a couple of days ago how thankful I am that I can start fresh every minute of the day-that God loves me so much that He never runs out of 2nd, 3rd,4th…chances for me to come to His feet and be renewed by Him. I love your post and absolutely LOVE Ps 103-it is one I pray very frequently to God. xoxo

    Oh WONDERFUL sisters in Christ who preach truth and encourage others to do the same! Thank you for sharing this. I have been in this same place and love the flow of scriptures in this post. We HAVE freedom in Christ, why do we choose not to walk in it? Gini, thanks for your response, too…that’s the lie I often run across. Love you ladies!
