Psalm 46:1-3

Beloved, please pause to listen to his word.   Linger … its words on your tongue, in your head and in your heart.  Then lift up a voice in prayer.

“GOD is our refuge and strength,

A very present help in trouble.

Therefore, we WILL NOT FEAR, though the earth should change

And though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea;

Though its waters roar and foam,

Though the mountains quake at its swelling pride.”

Who is your refuge?

To what or whom do you run when you need a ‘very present help’? Is it our gracious heavenly Father … who is ‘compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness’? (Psalm 103:8).  If not … may I lovingly ask, why?

What do you fear?

Do you trust God with that fear? Have you told Him about your fears?  Did you know that ‘God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of power and love and discipline’? (2 Timothy 1:7).  Did you now that Jesus’ dying on the cross took care of that fear and takes care of you still? 1 John 4:18 says “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear.”  God is the only one who has perfect, unconditional love.  Accept that love from Him and give Him your fears.

Pause. Linger on His word.  Lift up your voice in prayer.

Now go; walk in freedom, friend.
