Power of Prayer

We all know that prayer is effective and powerful.  The Bible teaches this fact and sometimes we experience those moments as believers of what we consider to be the miraculous answer to prayer.   The fact is that God always answers our prayers…”Yes, No and Not Right Now!”  Of course I tend to enjoy the yes answers the best because More

Rest & Relaxation

As a busy wife and mom, wouldn’t you just love for someone to tell you to go to bed and rest for a week?  There are so many times in my life that I have wished for a “spa week” , or a wonderful surprise of “help” that frees me to just relax, no worries about laundry or dust, or food.  Well, I got one of those yesterday…so here I am blogging during my R&R because More

The ‘I Wants’

Do you ever get the ‘I wants’?  I want a new dress … just a little black one … ya know to wear, well, anywhere really.  You can wear a little black dress anywhere.  I can also get a More

Totally on my mind …

This verse has totally been on my mind lately …

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13 (emphasis added)

There’s been a lot of things in my life lately that seem to have me grasping for  hope in God, joy, peace and the power of the Holy Spirit to transform, I mean truly t.r.a.n.s.f.o.r.m me.   A few things come to mind from the past few weeks … conflict between me and my beloved … fighting with my kiddos … fighting with myself because I forgot to remind my potty-training 3-year-old to use the potty and he’s had yet another accident (grrr!). I also have an ill grandmother who is awaiting cancer test results.

In reality, who couldn’t use a little hope?  a little transformation by the Power of the Holy Spirit?  If you know Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit indwelling you.  The same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead can transform all the wretched things about you.  Praise Jesus!

What does the Holy Spirit need to transform in you?  Confess that.  Repent of that.  Let the Lord work in changing you to look more like Him!!!  And on that note, be encouraged … that the God of hope, dear friend, will fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13).

The pictures above are just a short 20ish of the over 200 I took during the Christmas season of some fun family memories…The Grinch, presents, baking, swimming, touring, cousins LOVING being together…I hope you enjoy them and I also need to say a big THANKS to Holly for carrying the posting on this blog lately. She rocks!

We had an awesome Christmas holiday with family and our sweet children even took the whole fam to a tour of Cowboy Stadium as a gift to Dick and me.  We are all huge fans and it was so fun to see where our “Boys” play.   As the whole family separated to go to our various homes and duties, thoughts of the New Year began trickling into my brain. When I read Holly’s last post I got so tickled  and decided that God has a real sense of humor in More
