Pumpkins on my Mantel

So … it all started last Tuesday.  I was sitting at my desk in my preschool classroom and it hit me.  It’s November! IT’S NOVEMBER!!! Oh my gosh, it’s already here!  *gasp*  That explains the excitement in my heart that just keeps growing and growing!!!  I love, I mean absolutely LOVE …

Christmas!!!!  Early this morning, I got an email from Target saying their Black Friday sale is starting at 4am this year.  HOW EARLY IS THAT?!?!  One of my favorite ‘Christmas shopping traditions’ is to do the Black Friday Sales with mymom.  We both love it.  but I have to admit that we’ve never done the 4am thing; the earliest we’ve ever gone is 5am.  This will be a real test of our Black Friday endurance.  🙂

Then about an hour later, I was looking at the Walgreens weekly ad and saw that they had Brach’s Christmas Nougats on sale.  These remind me of my paternal grandparents.  They were great … loved christmas … super caring and giving with us grandkids and always had a 3 tier jar full of candy on their coffee table, which included these at christmas time.  🙂

Yes, I know the media does a great job in helping get me excited about Christmas, but I don’t mind.  Everything that reminds me of Christmas and gets me excited brings about so many great and happy memories.  Memories of Christmases growing up … Christmas with my husband and kids.  I think last Christmas was my favorite yet. I get super excited about Christmases to come!!!

So, I’ll enjoy the season of Thanksgiving with joyousness and excitement (I can’t wait for pumpkin pie!!!) … with Pumpkins on my mantel and the excitement of Christmas waiting in my heart!

Happy Holidays!!!

These are the actual pumpkins that are currently on my mantel!

I loved your article. It was so fun and exciting. Gave me a new perspective on Christmas. Don’t get me wrong, I love Christmas time. Just trying to take in Thanksgiving and all that it means and then…come on Christmas!
