Wonderstruck

I have been following Margaret Feinberg for a short amount of time.  She has written a book called Wonderstruck: Awaken to the nearness of God.  I have enjoyed her blog and today she gave a challenge and I decided to take it. More

Thai Chicken Wraps

Pioneer Woman has some of the most amazing recipes, and this is one of them.  I made this for the family for lunch after church Sunday and we all gave it a thumbs up.  Don’t be afraid when you see the length of the recipe-it has shortcuts and it is not hard to prepare.

Here are the tweaks I made to her recipe: More

Any 2013 Goals or Resolutions?

I gave up on New Year’s Resolutions several years ago.  I just think I don’t like the word, or maybe it’s the fact that I am so disappointed in myself when I don’t accomplish what I set out to accomplish.  I didn’t, however, give up on setting goals for my life each year.  There is something refreshing about a new year and a fresh start don’t you think?  More

Suffering

With the tragic event that happened in Newtown, CT yesterday, I have read many, many wonderful accounts/articles of help when we are suffering.  Geographically we are far removed from this small, beautiful  town, but in our hearts as parents and believers, we are are connected to these grieving families at the hip.  I read a great article on Facebook by John Piper and just wanted to share with all of you.  It is a short read ans has links to more articles like this if you are interested.  Praying with you for these families who grieve during this blessed holiday season.

Pancakes

I love to cut recipes and tips from the newspaper or magazines.  The problem I run into when doing that is my files get way too full after awhile and then I have to clean them out.  I mean really, if I don’t use a recipe within a year then it is time to trash it.  While cleaning out my recipe file not too long ago, I ran across More

P 31-part 4

This is the last in a four part post on being an excellent wife and mother as given to us in Proverbs 31.  We have covered 34 traits in the past three posts that help us be the Godly woman, wife and mother that He wants us to be while here on earth.  I am not saying it is an easy job, or is ever a finished job.  I do believe all these qualities will be worked on till God More

P 31-part three

Here we go again…not sure whether to call this adding insult to injury or adding quality to the quantity we already have!  Seriously, these next five verses in Proverbs 31 just keep getting better.  I especially love More

P 31-part two

Proverbs 31 presents a “type or model”, a composite, of an ideal wife and mother. It is impossible to be perfect, however, the woman represented in this chapter does give a wonderful list of attributes to work toward.  Today, let’s look at More

P 31

I love reading Proverbs and I especially love Proverbs 31.  My husband and I used to do a lot with the pre-marital counseling ministry at Denton Bible Church and all the Godly young women there would strive to be P31 Women.  You know ladies that “what we catch them with we have to keep them with”. So needless to say, if you catch a husband with More

Seasons in Marriage

My husband and I watched a romantic comedy a few days ago which sparked a conversation about young, carefree love.  We remembered what it was like, how it felt, the happiness it brought and the freedom of laughter that accompanies it.  We talked a little about trying to go back to that point, to regain some of that spontaneity of young romance.  Even though we just celebrated our 40th anniversary, couldn’t it be possible?  More
